Civics via Current (and not so current)
Events Readings

Studying Civics via Past and Present Journal and Newspaper Articles.

The articles listed here are committed to growing your awareness and understanding of  Civic thoughtfulness.

What is the study of Civics?  Peter Levine defines it as "the discipline that rigorously studies how citizens can improve the world."  ... to do so you must take values seriously. "Values are not just opinions; they are propositions that can be explained and defended.  Thus Civic Studies draws on philosophy, political theory and theology."  In Civics we pursue the important question:How is it that one is a good citizen?

By analyzing an article or two in each bi-weekly reading, ample information is gained that will grow your understanding of ontological  concerns (human meaning) and your understanding of how both the Christian faith  and  the unique aim of the United States' Constitution relate to human flourishing.

Take time to work through these articles.  They are not in any particular ideological order but they all provide significant information to help broaden the readers understanding of important aspects regarding human well-being and the unique role of both the Bible and the Constitution of the United States of America toward that end.
